History
In 1839, early settlers of the area avoided setbacks and developed the area. Pioneers such as Johannes Johanassen, Elling Eilsen, Even Heg and Claus Clausen spread the word back to Norway about the fantastic territory. Their word in their homeland persuaded a massive movement to the Territory of Wisconsin; founding the most significant Norwegian-American settlement in the United States.
