It offers camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding, snowmobiling and cross-country ski trails.

With a number of beautiful lakes, Auburn also accommodates the fishing and boating crowd. Auburn Lake is one of its more popular kettle lakes and offers an abundance of fish in wide variety. Forest Lake is a smaller lake with a more developed shoreline. This lake is suitable for canoes, small rowboats and paddle-boats. Fishers should note that many fish are catch and release only.

Also located nearby is the Ice Age Center, where one can witness the geological phenomena that shaped the area now known as Auburn.
