Janesville’s nickname, “City of Parks,” isn’t an anomaly. The city has a 2,500 acre park system, which includes 53 parks, boat launches, golf courses and nature trails. The two golf courses in Janesville include the Riverside Golf Course, an 18-hole course, and Blackhawk Golf Course, a nine-hole course. Riverside has repeatedly been given 3+ star ratings from Golf Digest. Janesville also has a public, internationally-themed botanical garden at Rotary Gardens. It’s a 20-acre non-profit botanic garden home to many dramatic and themed gardens, including Japanese, Scottish, French Formal, Italian and English Cottage Gardens.

Other entertainment options in Janesville include the Armory Dinner Theatre, Janesville Jets Hockey and the Janesville Performing Arts Center. The Armory is a historical building in downtown Janesville offering three distinct dining and entertainment experiences. The Janesville Jets are an expansion team in the North American Hockey League. You can see Jets hockey action at the Janesville Ice Arena. The Janesville Performing Arts Center offers performances and events produced by 15 local non-profit arts groups. The center has a 633-seat theatre, lobby and art gallery. Each year, the center hosts over 100 public and private events.
